Looking for the quintessential Aussie beach shack experience? This is it – and it couldn’t be in a more stunning location.Right on the esplanade, this neat property has plenty of home comforts, a huge backyard, and views to the iconic Sellicks Beach coastline.There are two bedrooms: one with a double bed and the other furnished with two singles, plus a cot is available if needed. The house has an open-plan kitchen (electric cooktop and oven), dining and living space with reverse-cycle air-conditioning and floor-to-ceiling picture windows so you can drink in the views. A wood fire, TV and comfy couches mean you can cosy up inside when it’s cool, but on fine days you’ll want to make the most of the undercover outdoor entertaining area by kicking back with a wine and inhaling the salt air. There’s a barbecue provided, and the huge yard with play equipment will help tire out the kids – if they aren’t already weary after a day on the beach.Sellicks Beach has its own general store which sells takeaway food and is also home to the excellent Victory Hotel (Best Hotel Dining award winner in the 2013 Advertiser Food Awards), or you’ll find a supermarket and more shops just 10 minutes’ drive away at Aldinga. Sellicks is also an excellent base from which to explore the Vales vineyards, with Victor Harbor an easy day trip for those who want to venture further.
